Auction Information

Thank you for participating in the Spring Gala and Benefit Auction! It is our largest fundraiser of the year and our goal is to make it as easy and fun as possible. As we have done in the past, we ask each family to gather one or two items, gift certificates or services for our action. (And remember, this year you will earn raffle tickets for the SWS Exclusive Incentive Drawing for each donated item you collect!)

Here are the simple steps: 
Bring the Donation Form to your favorite businesses around town. Or if your family or friends have a special item or service to offer, complete the form yourself with all of the details. 

Have the donor complete the Donation Form and return it with the donation to school on Friday mornings from 8:30-9:00 at the bistro table next to the office, and chat with Yuki and Toni about your successes! Or, you can leave your items and forms at the donation center in the Sanderling office. If the item is bulky or you need assistance please contact parent volunteer Gavin Matthews at

Please remember: 
  • The donation deadline is May 30, 2014.
  • Additional Donation Forms are available in the school office. 
  • Each item must be turned in with a Donation Form
  • We can generate a gift certificate on the donor's behalf, if requested. (Please find out about any restrictions or exclusions.)
  • When donating a service, a personal endorsement/review by a community member always increases the desirability of the item. (e.g. "This yoga teacher cured me of all of my stresses!)
  • Merchants are usually very gracious -- at worst they will simply tell you "no". Most of the time they will gladly support their community's children. Also, you won't be the first person asking for a donation; they are asked regularly. 
  • Bidding will begin on April28th, and all of the items we collect will be featured in the online auction (and/or silent auction at the gala event) where all of the proceeds will go directly to benefit our school. 
The following items have been some favorites of our guests and bidders in past years: 
  • Handwork or other handcrafted items 
  • Restaurant certificates, coffee shop gift cards, etc
  • Children's camps and activities
  • Waldorf-y children's products like clothing, toys, games, furnitures, books, etc. 
  • Tickets to community events, theatre, sports, music and dance concerts, museums, etc.
  • Donate your mountain home or other vacation spot for a long weekend or a full week 
  • Massage services, yoga classes, essential oil packages, spa items and treatments
  • Holistic and homeopathic remedy kits and other items and services. 
Open your heart in support of our school, Waldorf Education and most of all, our children, by helping us gather some great items for our Benefit Auction this year!
